Texel in 2020

Smart tips and fun small-scale activities

On Texel, too, the highlights for 2020 naturally look different as a result of the corona measures. Many fun small-scale activities are planned, restaurants are delivering meals and with the handy Texelmap app you can easily find out which Texel hotspots still have room for visitors and at what time of the day. This way you’re sure to have a great holiday on Texel in 2020, and you’re certain to have plenty to do.

Allow us to inspire you with our tips for your stay on Texel in 2020!

1. Park De Krim Celebrates its 50th Birthday

De Krim Texel celebrated its 50th anniversary at the beginning of May this year. During this period we have grown from a small emergency campsite to a recreational company with nine operations spread across the whole island. There is now a healthy organisation, of which we are incredibly proud. Unfortunately we had to postpone the festive activities to celebrate our golden jubilee until autumn 2020 on Texel. Keep an eye on our website for the party calendar!

2. Ship in sight – The roads of Texel and the world

In the new exposition ‘Ship in Sight – the Roads of Texel and the World’, the Roads of Texel come alive. An entirely new dimension has been added to the world’s largest maritime scale model. The hidden stories about the 160 ships have become visible, thanks to new technique. They show that the Roads of Texel was the logistic hub of the seventeenth century.

Come to Museum Kaap Skil and join the voyages of the whalers, fluyt ships and warships which once lay on the Roads of Texel.

3. SBS 6 Grand Garden Renovation at Holiday Park De Krim

Lodewijk Hoekstra, the gardener of the SBS 6 television programme De Grote Tuinverbouwing, has joined forces with De Krim Texel and the Dutch forestry commission Staatsbosbeheer to transform De Krim’s farmyard and the adjacent woods into a pleasant place for play and sports. Naturally, all kinds of animals have also returned to the yard and given it a sustainable character. Until late June, viewers were able to follow developments there weekly on SBS6 in the De Grote Tuinverbouwing programme. You can watch the episodes here.

It’s even more fun, of course, to come to Texel in 2020 and see the result for yourself. De Krim Nature Adventure
