My Brainbox ft. Jan Akkerman & Phil Bee
In cooperation with Theatre Floralis, de Krim Texel is organising a performance by the Netherlands' best-known guitarist Jan Akkerman on Saturday 21 January 2023. Together with Phil Bee and three other top Dutch musicians, Jan Akkerman has revived the Rock & Blues repertoire. The musical project: My Brainbox, will revive old times. With a lot of conviction and a lot of dynamics, the 'Psychedelic Rock' of the 1960s will pop out of the speakers.
The repertoire consists mainly of songs from Brainbox's first LP from 1969, including Down Man, Summertime, Sea Of Delight and Scarborough Fair.
Jan Akkerman & Phil Bee
Jan Akkerman has been active as a guitarist for more than 50 years and has garnered world fame. With the bands Focus and Brainbox but also with several solo records. In 2005, Jan Akkerman received the Golden Harp for his entire oeuvre and in 2021 he was knighted in the Order of Orange-Nassau for his contribution to Dutch pop music.
Phil Bee. The winner of The Voice Senior 2021 has been considered one of the best singers in Europe on the blues and soul circuit for many years. Phil Bee has been playing international stages with his blues and soul-related bands for more than 30 years. Winning The Voice Senior put a crown on his impressive career.
