During the Texel Gala on 21 March at Evenementenhal Texel, organised by the TOP Texel Business Association and De Krim Texel, an impressive sum was raised thanks to widespread support. Business owners and islanders joined forces to support an important cause. With proceeds of no less than €101,545, the gala makes a direct contribution to the future of healthcare on Texel.

The Texel Gala raised a total of €101,545. The auction alone raised €45,000. This sum will go towards the new Texel Health Centre. The centre will house, among other things, two GP practices, an emergency clinic, a blood-taking clinic and various outpatient clinics.
This development will ensure that healthcare on Texel remains accessible and of high quality. This is desperately needed, as pressure on the healthcare system is increasing. In particular, the shortage of suitable housing makes it a challenge to retain healthcare staff. The new centre offers a sustainable solution to this problem.
The Texel Gala featured a full evening’s programme, including a sumptuous four-course dinner, live performances, entertainment, an auction and a raffle. This created a special atmosphere and generated a great deal of engagement among those present.
Many Texel-based businesses contributed by offering prizes. Among other things, bids were placed for a unique guided tour of the dunes including lunch at Paal 9, a five-course dinner for six at Pakhuus, a day’s work by a carpenter, and, courtesy of De Krim Texel, a stay in a Tiny House at Camping Kogerstrand.
TOP Texel and De Krim Texel look back with pride on this successful evening. Together with all those present and the businesses involved, a valuable contribution has been made to an important initiative for the island.
