The Joris & Jet Foundation
We believe that everyone deserves to have wonderful holiday memories. The Joris & Jet Foundation, an initiative of De Krim Texel, has been committed to this since 2022. We do this by making holiday homes available to people who are struggling financially or who are going through a difficult time due to a medical condition, so that they can still enjoy a carefree weekend or midweek break. In cooperation with various partners and charities, we ensure that they can enjoy a genuinely relaxing time on Texel.
Fully catered stay
In June 2022, the Joris & Jet Foundation opened its own holiday home at De Krim Holiday Park in De Cocksdorp. Every year, 100 families can enjoy a fully catered stay here. For example, TESO sponsored the tickets for the ferry to Texel, Van der Linde Fietsen provided suitable rental bicycles for all family members, PLUS Hooijschuur put together an extensive grocery package and the SPAR supermarket at Holiday Park De Krim provided a shopping voucher.
About the foundation
The Joris and Jet Foundation is named after the adventurous friends Joris Jutter and Jet Visnet, who provide entertainment at the parks of De Krim during the school holidays.
The foundation aims to provide one hundred holidays a year for charity. It does so in cooperation with foundation Reis met je Hart and Voedselbank Rotterdam. The foundation Reis met je Hart is a platform dedicated to helping people who have not been able to enjoy a holiday for a long time due to a lack of financial means, but whose friends and family would love them to have the opportunity. Voedselbank Rotterdam is the oldest and largest food bank in the Netherlands and plays an important role in combating poverty in Rotterdam. Both organisations have been passionately committed to helping people who are less fortunate financially for many years. They select who is eligible for a holiday with the Joris & Jet Foundation.

The board
The board of the foundation consists of (f.r.t.l.) Menno Schuijl, chairman, Bart van Tongeren, treasurer, and Anneke Visser-Veltkamp, secretary. The foundation raises financial contributions and non-monetary contributions from its sponsors. The sponsoring primarily consists of the provision of accommodation, goods and services by partners from Texel. The board manages the sponsor contributions and the capital of the foundation and ensures that this is used to offer a hassle-free holiday for the selected families.
The board of the foundation receives no remuneration for its work.
