Hooray! De Krim Texel is taking another big step towards sustainability with the arrival of a new bio-digester. For years, De Krim Texel has been committed to the climate and aims for a CO2-neutral Texel. The installation of the bio-digester at Holiday Park De Krim brings this goal one step closer.

The bio-digester plays a crucial role in the transition to a circular economy. By converting organic waste into biogas and biowater, the bio-digester reuses raw materials and minimises residual waste. This reduces dependence on fossil fuels, leading to lower greenhouse gas emissions and a cleaner environment. The biogas heats buildings and the biowater is used for irrigation in times of drought.
The arrival of the bio-digester demonstrates De Krim Texel's commitment to a sustainable future, with nature, the island and guests at its heart. As a recreation company, it shares responsibility for the liveability of Texel, and with projects such as this one, De Krim Texel supports the sustainability planning of Texel, focusing on energy saving and sustainable energy generation.
