The Meierblis is a tradition on Texel (blis is Tessels for fire). People get together around a large bonfire. Smaller fires are lit around the big one, so people can bake rolls, etc. The Meierblis dates from 1789 when people lit fires to chase away the winter sprites to make way for the spirits of spring and summer. The Meierblis is held on 30th of April except if that is a Sunday, when it is on 29th of April. The next edition will take place in 2022.
Spectacular acts, dancing, singing, grand illusions and comedy are the secret ingredients to the family outing of the year.
Participate in the half marathon and experience Texel's diverse landscape on foot!
An annual event that is celebrated in every village.
