You can hear the sea from your tent or caravan. Just one range of dunes separates Campsite Kogerstrand from the beach. Cross the dunes on the other side and you are in De Koog; great for shopping, strolling, drinks at a pavement café or a nice meal.
Campsite Kogerstrand stretches over roughly 2.5km and has 900 pitches.
But because of its dune setting, you get a sense of being on a small, intimate campsite, wherever you are. The land is owned by Dutch natural heritage organisation Staatsbosbeheer. So nature is at the heart of every decision made. The result: unique pitches nestled in the rugged dunes. Kogerstrand is an ANWB Charmecamping, a Royal Dutch Touring Club label for campsites in the most idyllic settings with superb service! Well-deserved, too, as Kogerstrand excels in location, atmosphere and hospitality.
At Campsite Kogerstrand, you can find a variety of unique pitches for tents and campers. Don’t have your own camping gear? Kogerstrand also rents out furnished tents and hiker’s cabins. Plus, there is a separate site at Kogerstrand with fully furnished hire tents for group camping.
During the May and summer holidays, little ones can have exciting adventures with the professional recreation team. The playground is guaranteed to offer hours of play fun and on the safe, car-free site in the dunes they can go wild and play hide-and-seek to their hearts’ content.

‘Camping just one dune away from the beach and sea, now that’s very special. If I were to go camping at Kogerstrand, I would pitch my tent at D37. High above everything else, with a sea view. Add a stunning sunset and this, to me, is enjoyment Texel style. Do also go for an early walk through De Slufter; take in the tranquillity, sound of the waves and stunning nature. And, let’s not forget a tasty fish meal, washed down with a “Skuumkoppe” beer at the harbour.’

Campsite Kogerstrand is closed in the winter months. During this time, the dune campsite is a nature reserve with an important role: to protect the island against the sea. The operation of Campsite Kogerstrand is always centred on the preservation and protection of this stunning nature reserve. Care for our environment: that’s ‘More Texel’.
